Our mission is to create scholarly (educational) and scholarship (financial) opportunities in which participants of all levels have a fair and equal chance to participate and be successful.
"We reward students for demonstrating what they know!" Developed at Nova Southeastern University in 2001, the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates and delivers innovative scholarship and educational programs for students of all ages through the use of internet-based quiz competitions.
CKSF scholarship competitions consist of one or more quizzes with topics ranging from general "common knowledge" to specific academic subjects, books, websites, and even movies. Scores are based on a combination of time and accuracy. Students with the highest scores at the end of the competition win. There are no essays or long applications to complete and a single CKSF registration is good from high school all the way through college and graduate school.
Scholarships are posted on the CKSF Scholarship Calendar and announced to eligible participants a week before the quiz start date. Quizzes are available 24 hours a day during specified dates.
In addition to scholarships, CKSF administers academic and life skills programs for students of all ages including an internet safety initiative developed in conjunction with the FBI, an anti-bullying program, and a monthly competition designed specifically for students in intensive reading classes.
